My Fall Must-Haves for 2026: Cozy, Pink & Perfect for Working From Home

There’s a moment every year when I can feel fall coming.

The mornings get a little cooler. I start reaching for a blanket while I’m drinking my first cup of coffee. Suddenly, leggings and oversized sweatshirts seem like perfectly acceptable attire seven days a week — not that I needed much convincing.

    And then it happens.

I want to make the entire house cozy.

At 45, I’ve figured out that fall doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s Pinterest board to be perfect. My version involves working from home in ridiculously comfortable clothes, plenty of pink, a dog nearby, soft blankets everywhere, coffee in the morning, Coke Zero in the afternoon, and an unreasonable number of things featuring Highland cows.

If that sounds like your kind of fall too, you’re in the right place.

These are my Fall 2026 must-haves — some practical, some completely unnecessary, and all chosen with one goal in mind:

Make everyday life at home feel a little cozier.

🍂 WEAR IT: My Cozy Fall Wardrobe

    1. Buttery-Soft Leggings

Let’s begin with the unofficial work-from-home uniform.

    Leggings.

I practically live in them once cooler weather arrives.

But I’ve learned there is a huge difference between leggings and good leggings.

I want a pair that’s buttery soft, stretchy without constantly sliding down, comfortable around my waist, and thick enough that I can answer the door or run to the store without having to rethink my life choices.

For fall, black will always be my staple, but I’m also loving chocolate brown, burgundy, deep plum, dusty rose, and mauve.

    What I look for:

    • Buttery-soft fabric
    • High, comfortable waistband
    • Four-way stretch
    • Fabric that isn’t see-through
    • Enough structure to wear outside the house
    • Multiple fall colors

They’re perfect for working at my desk, walking the dog, running errands, or throwing on with an oversized sweatshirt and sneakers.

Basically, I want leggings that feel like pajamas without announcing to the world that I’ve dressed like I’m going to bed.

    SHOP MY LEGGINGS PICK:
    Buttery-Soft Leggings

    2. Oversized Sweatshirts & Pullovers

There are few things I love more than the first chilly morning when I can finally pull out an oversized sweatshirt.

I want mine roomy, soft, and long enough to wear with leggings.

And if it happens to be pink?

    Even better.

For Fall 2026, I’m drawn to washed pink, mauve, oatmeal, cream, chocolate brown, and those faded vintage colors that already look like you’ve owned them forever.

What makes a great fall sweatshirt for me:

    • Soft interior
    • Relaxed or oversized fit
    • Longer length
    • Easy to layer
    • Machine washable
    • Cute enough for errands but comfortable enough for home

I also have absolutely no defense against a cute Highland cow sweatshirt.

Put a fluffy cow on the front of an oversized pink sweatshirt and apparently all financial reasoning leaves my body.

    3. Another Throw Blanket I Definitely Don’t Need

    Here’s the thing.

    I already have throw blankets.

    A lot of throw blankets.

Apparently my brain does not consider this relevant information when I encounter an exceptionally soft blanket in a store.

    I will touch it.

I will stand there rubbing the corner between my fingers.

And I will immediately begin thinking about where it could go in my house.

For fall, I especially love blush pink, dusty rose, cream, taupe, and warm neutral blankets.

My perfect throw blanket needs to be:

    • Super soft
    • Oversized enough to actually cover you
    • Machine washable
    • Cozy without being unbearably hot
    • Pretty enough to leave on the couch

Because when you work from home, blankets aren’t just decor.

There have absolutely been mornings when I’ve started working with a blanket wrapped around me and realized sometime around lunch that I’m still wearing it.

    No regrets.

    4. Cozy Socks & Supportive Slippers

You know fall has officially arrived when the fuzzy socks come out.

Working from home means I can fully embrace cozy footwear, but at 45, I’ve also learned something:

    My feet have opinions now.

Cute slippers aren’t enough. I want cushioning and support too.

For slippers, I look for a soft lining, cushioned footbed, non-slip sole, and enough structure that I can wear them around the house without feeling like I’m walking barefoot.

    For fuzzy socks?

I mostly require them to be ridiculously soft.

    Bonus points for pink.

Double bonus points for Highland cows.

    MY SLIPPER PICK:

☕ DRINK IT: Coffee & Coke Zero Essentials

    5. The Perfect Fall Coffee Mug

I firmly believe coffee tastes better from a cute mug.

No, I cannot prove this scientifically.

    I’m still convinced it’s true.

My favorite fall mornings are the quiet ones when I’m at my desk with a fresh cup of coffee, the house hasn’t completely come alive yet, and my dog is nearby.

It’s such a small ritual, but it’s one of those everyday things that makes working from home feel special.

When I’m looking for a new coffee mug, I like:

    • A generously sized mug
    • A comfortable handle
    • Microwave-safe material
    • Dishwasher-safe designs
    • Cute seasonal details
    • Something that makes me smile when I reach for it

    Pink pumpkins?

    Yes.

    Highland cow?

    Obviously.

Highland cow surrounded by pink pumpkins?

We’re done here. Take my money.

    6. A Little Fall Coffee Bar Makeover

I don’t completely redecorate my house every season.

Instead, I like changing smaller areas.

And naturally, my coffee area gets special treatment.

I’ll swap in a couple of fall mugs, add a tiny pumpkin or two, change out a little sign, and maybe add pretty containers for coffee pods or syrups.

    It’s nothing dramatic.

But that’s what I love about it.

Every morning when I make my coffee, I get that little reminder that a new season is here.

And yes, there will probably be something pink involved.

    And a Highland cow.

We know how this works by now.

    7. A Giant Pink Tumbler for My Coke Zero

    Coffee handles the morning.

Coke Zero handles the rest of the day.

I love filling a giant insulated tumbler with ice and Coke Zero and keeping it beside me while I work.

The colder the Coke Zero stays, the happier I am.

    My ideal tumbler has:

    • Double-wall insulation
    • A large capacity
    • A comfortable handle
    • A lid that doesn’t leak everywhere
    • A straw
    • A base that fits in a cup holder
    • Easy-to-clean parts

And obviously, mine needs to be pink.

    Hot pink.

    Blush pink.

    Glitter pink.

    Pale pink.

    I’m flexible.

Pink is a neutral in this house.

🏠 DECORATE IT: Making Home Feel Like Fall

    8. Pink Fall Decor

Who decided fall decor has to be orange?

    Because I’d like a word.

I love traditional autumn colors, but I also love mixing them with pink.

Blush velvet pumpkins look gorgeous with cream, warm brown, natural wood, and touches of gold.

You still get that cozy fall feeling without turning the entire house orange.

For an easy fall update, I like things that can be reused year after year:

    • Velvet or fabric pumpkins
    • Pillow covers
    • Small tabletop decorations
    • Fall florals
    • Cozy garlands
    • Seasonal signs

You don’t need twenty new decorations.

A few pieces mixed with things you already own can completely change a room.

    MY PINK FALL FIND:
    Pink Velvet Pumpkins

    9. Obviously, Something With a Highland Cow

I don’t know what it is about Highland cows.

    Maybe it’s the hair.

    Maybe it’s those adorable faces.

Maybe it’s because they constantly look like they desperately need to speak to a manager but can’t see through their bangs.

Whatever it is, I love them.

And fall seems like the perfect season for Highland cow decor.

    A pillow.

    A mug.

    A blanket.

    A little figurine.

    Wall art.

I am apparently willing to consider all options.

Give that cow a pumpkin, pink bow, or little fall flower crown and my ability to make responsible purchasing decisions disappears completely.

    10. Candles That Smell Like Cozy — Not a Craft Store Explosion

    I love fall scents.

    But I have limits.

I don’t necessarily want my house smelling like someone set fire to a cinnamon broom.

I prefer warm, softer fragrances like:

    • Vanilla
    • Coffee
    • Caramel
    • Marshmallow
    • Amber
    • Sandalwood
    • Soft pumpkin
    • Cashmere

I want the house to smell warm and inviting without being overwhelming.

There’s just something about lighting a candle, grabbing a blanket, making another cup of coffee, and sitting down at my desk on a chilly day.

Suddenly answering emails feels about 37% less annoying.

    That’s basically self-care math.

💻 WORK IN IT: Making My Home Office Cozy

Cozy feminine fall home office with pink accents, warm lighting and coffee

    11. My Cozy Work-From-Home Setup

When you work from home, your surroundings matter.

I spend a huge portion of my week at my desk, so I don’t want it to feel cold or sterile.

Fall is my excuse to make it extra cozy.

I’ll add a soft blanket over my chair, warmer lighting, my favorite coffee mug, a pretty notebook, and a couple of small seasonal decorations.

    Nothing needs to be expensive.

Sometimes just changing the lighting or adding a little pumpkin beside your computer makes the space feel new again.

And I’ve decided things don’t always need to be practical.

Sometimes something can exist simply because it’s pink and cute.

    I fully support that.

    12. Warm Lighting for Cozy Fall Evenings

Overhead lighting and I have a complicated relationship.

    Especially after about 5 p.m.

During fall, I much prefer small lamps, warm bulbs, fairy lights, and flameless candles.

Warm lighting makes a room instantly feel more inviting and can make that transition from the workday into the evening feel more noticeable — something that’s especially nice when your office and home happen to be the same place.

    COZY LIGHTING PICK:
    Flameless Candles or Small Lamp

📚 SLOW IT DOWN: My Fall Reading Basket

    13. Creating a Cozy Corner Just for Me

One thing I want more of this fall is something you can’t order from Amazon:

    Slowing down.

Working from home can make it surprisingly easy to feel like you should always be doing something.

    One more email.

    One more load of laundry.

One more thing crossed off the list.

So this fall, I want to create a little reading basket beside my favorite chair.

    Nothing elaborate.

    A couple of books.

    A soft blanket.

    Fuzzy socks.

    A notebook.

Everything I need to put my phone down for a while and simply enjoy being home.

    My dog nearby.

    A blanket over my legs.

    A good book.

    Coffee if it’s morning.

    Coke Zero if it’s afternoon.

    That’s my kind of fall.

🍁 Making Fall Feel Like Mine

The older I get, the more I realize my favorite things aren’t necessarily the biggest, newest, or most expensive things.

    They’re little comforts.

    A blanket I love.

    Coffee in a cute mug.

    An oversized sweatshirt.

    Leggings that are ridiculously comfortable.

    My dog curled up nearby.

    An ice-cold Coke Zero.

Something pink simply because pink makes me happy.

And apparently an ever-growing collection of Highland cow things.

My fall style doesn’t fit perfectly into one aesthetic.

    It’s a little cozy farmhouse.

    A little girly.

    A lot pink.

    Very work-from-home comfortable.

Fueled by coffee and Coke Zero.

And there are probably more Highland cows involved than strictly necessary.

    But it feels like me.

And at 45, that’s one of the things I appreciate most. I’m much less interested in buying something because the internet tells me I’m supposed to have it.

I want things that make my everyday life happier, easier, prettier, or more comfortable.

If it’s soft, cozy, pink, caffeinated, comfortable, or has a fluffy cow on it, there’s a pretty good chance it belongs on my Fall 2026 must-have list.

Now I Want to Know Yours

What’s the one thing that makes it officially feel like fall in your house?

Is it pulling out the blankets? Buying that first pumpkin-scented candle? Switching to fall coffee? Decorating the house? Living in leggings until spring?

Tell me your fall must-have in the comments. And if you’re creating your own cozy space this year, I’d love to hear what you’re adding to it.

Because I absolutely do not need another excuse to buy a throw blanket…

…but I’m willing to hear you out. 🩷🍂

  • Embracing Fall: A Season of Memories and Traditions

Embracing Fall: A Season of Memories and Traditions

The many different shades of orange, yellow, and brown leaves scattered across the landscape create a beautiful scene. The cooler weather and crisp air signal that it’s time to pull out cozy sweaters, leggings, and boots. I love the smells of fall—from pumpkin spice candles to a turkey roasting in the oven.

I am also an October baby, so that makes me a little partial to fall.

    Memories Made

As a child, Halloween was my favorite fall tradition. The many different shades of orange, yellow, and brown on the leaves and trees made everything feel magical. The cooler weather and crisp air meant it was time to bring out my comfy hoodies, leggings, and boots. I loved the smell of fall—from pumpkin spice candles to a turkey roasting in the oven.

Every year my younger brother and I would dress up as our favorite characters from that year’s movies and head out for candy. We’d start on one end of town and work our way through the neighborhoods, filling our bags with treats. Looking back, it wasn’t just about the candy—it was about the excitement, the laughter, and the memories we created together.

Not only do we get to experience Halloween, but fall also means Thanksgiving. The holiday is filled with family, friends, traditions, and food. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has always been one of my favorite traditions. Watching the giant balloons float through the streets while spending time with loved ones creates a sense of warmth that perfectly captures the season.

Even though I host Thanksgiving now as an adult, I still continue to make time to watch the parade. My bucket list consists of me attending this parade in person one day. It may sound simple, but because seeing this parade in person would make me the happiest person on earth, it remains one of my biggest goals.

Pumpkins, Pumpkin Spice, and Everything Nice

I can’t talk about fall without mentioning pumpkins. Pumpkins seem to be everywhere this time of year. They are in smells, on front porches, on our dinner tables, in our decorations, and even in our coffee. Pumpkin spice has become a staple of the season. Whether it’s a warm latte on a chilly morning or a scented candle filling the house with the aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg, pumpkin spice has become synonymous with fall.

Personally, I’m a fan of the flavors and traditions that come with the season. From pumpkin pies at family gatherings to carving pumpkins with loved ones, these simple activities help make fall feel special year after year.

    Why Fall Feels Special

Fall has a way of slowing things down. The changing leaves remind us that transitions can be beautiful, while traditions like Halloween and Thanksgiving bring people together. Whether it’s gathering around a dinner table, taking a walk through colorful foliage, or enjoying a warm drink on a cool afternoon, fall encourages us to appreciate life’s simple pleasures.

For me, fall is more than just a season—it’s a collection of memories, traditions, and moments of gratitude that I look forward to every year.

  • Budget-Friendly Backyard Projects for a Relaxing Space

Budget-Friendly Backyard Projects for a Relaxing Space

Sometimes the most rewarding DIY projects begin with a single photo and a simple dream”

When I first looked at the side of our house, I didn’t see an outdoor retreat.

I saw old mulch, weeds, exposed landscape fabric, and a narrow space we walked through every day without giving it a second thought.

It wasn’t ugly – it just wasn’t inviting.

Then one evening while scrolling through backyard inspiration on Pinterest and after asking AI for help, I found my inspiration. I saved the photo and got to planning my budget.

I knew it wouldn’t happen overnight, but I also knew it didn’t have to cost thousands of dollars.

This became one of my favorite DIY projects.

    Before the Makeover

Looking back now, it’s amazing how much potential was hiding in this space.

The flower bed had become overgrown.

    The old mulch had faded.

Landscape fabric was sticking out in several places.

There wasn’t anywhere to sit, relax, or enjoy the outdoors.

Honestly, it had become one of those areas you simply ignored.

Instead of seeing what it was, I started imaging what it could become.

    The Inspiration

    Every DIY project starts somewhere.

I loved that the inspiration photo featured:

    • Warm café string lights
    • Decorative rock landscaping
    • Comfortable patio seating
    • Layered outdoor lighting
    • Beautiful potted plants
    • A simple but elegant design

I wanted to capture the same feeling—a cozy outdoor retreat that reflected our own style while staying within a realistic budget.

That photo became the blueprint for everything that followed.

    Planning the Project

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that every successful DIY project starts with a plan.

Instead of rushing to buy furniture, I focused on the foundation first.

I sketched out the layout on paper and measured the space so I knew exactly how many pavers, bags of gravel, and landscape fabric I would need.

That simple step saved both time and money.

    Tip:

Measure everything twice before buying materials. It prevents unnecessary trips back to the store and helps avoid overspending.

Step 1: Cleaning Up the Space

    The first weekend wasn’t glamorous.

I spent hours removing old mulch, pulling weeds, cleaning out debris, and removing damaged landscape fabric.

It wasn’t exciting work, but it made the biggest difference.

Sometimes the hardest part of a makeover is simply preparing the space.

    Step 2: Installing the Foundation

Once everything was cleaned up, I installed fresh landscape fabric before spreading decorative gravel.

This one step will help reduce weeds and keep maintenance to a minimum.

Then I laid the pavers to create a dedicated seating area.

Immediately, the space began feeling like an outdoor room instead of just another flower bed.

    Helpful Tip

Use a level while laying pavers.

Taking a few extra minutes to level each one makes the furniture much more stable later.

    Step 3: Adding the Lighting

    Lighting completely transformed this project.

During the day, the space is simple.

At night, it becomes warm, inviting, and relaxing.

I layered several different types of lighting:

    • Edison café string lights
    • Solar pathway lights
    • Decorative lanterns
    • LED fairy lights to the planter

Using multiple light sources creates depth and makes the space feel much more expensive than it actually is.

    Helpful Tip

Mix overhead lighting with ground lighting.

The combination creates a cozy atmosphere while improving visibility.

    Step 4: Decorating the Space

Once the hard work was finished, it was finally time for my favorite part.

    Decorating.

Adding the outdoor rug, yellow accent pillow, lantern, and greenery instantly made everything feel complete.

Little details truly make a space feel like home.

    Shopping on a Budget

One thing I quickly learned is that creating a beautiful outdoor space doesn’t require shopping at expensive landscape stores.

I mixed products from several retailers to get the look I wanted without overspending.

Some of the links below are affiliate links. If you purchase through these links, I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you for supporting my DIY projects!

    🏡 Home Depot

Home Depot became my go-to for the foundation of the project.

    • Concrete Pavers
    • Decorative Landscape Gravel
    • Landscape Fabric
    • Outdoor Potting Soil & Mulch
    • Tiki Torch

    Amazon Alternatives

    🛒 Walmart

    🎨 Hobby Lobby

Hobby Lobby added those little decorative touches that gave the small space personality.

    Amazon Alternatives

    📦 Amazon

Amazon made most of this possible especially with the lighting. And as always, Amazon is my most favorite place to purchase my DIY supplies.

    Amazon Alternatives

    The Finished Backyard Retreat

Now this has become one of my favorite places to relax.

After dinner, I love stepping outside, turning on the cafe lights, and simply sitting with a cup of tea while watching the dogs explore the yard.

It’s amazing how a space we barely noticed has become somewhere we intentionally spend time.

That feeling is worth every weekend spent working on this project.

Can This Project Work for Any Budget?

    Absolutely.

One thing I love about this makeover is how flexible it is.

    Budget-Friendly ($100–$300)

    • Solar lights
    • Two chairs you already own
    • Decorative gravel refresh
    • Outdoor rug
    • String lights

    Mid-Range ($300–$700)

    • Paver patio
    • New furniture
    • Decorative planters
    • Landscape edging
    • Additional lighting

    Complete Makeover ($700+)

    • Larger patio
    • Premium outdoor furniture
    • More landscaping
    • Hanging plants
    • Smart outdoor lighting

You can also adapt this idea for:

    • Apartment patios
    • Small backyards
    • Side yards
    • Courtyards
    • Townhome outdoor spaces

Start with one section. You can always build on it over time.

    My Biggest Takeaway

Looking back at the before photo, I never imagined this little side yard would become one of our favorite places at home.

This project reminded me that DIY isn’t about perfection.

It’s about creating spaces that bring people together.

The inspiration photo gave me the vision.

The weekends of work made it happen.

And now every evening, when those lights come on, I’m reminded that sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference.

  • The Ultimate Christmas Planner: Your Secret to a Stress-Free Holiday Season

The Ultimate Christmas Planner: Your Secret to a Stress-Free Holiday Season

“Christmas isn’t about how much you spend—it’s about the memories you create.”

If you’re anything like me, every January starts with the same promise:

“Next Christmas, I’ll be more organized.”

Then somehow December arrives, and I’m searching for wrapping paper at midnight, wondering if I already bought Aunt Ruby a candle…or was that last year?

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), Americans spend hundreds of billions of dollars during the holiday season each year, and many shoppers begin purchasing gifts months in advance. Planning early has become one of the best ways to avoid holiday stress and spread out expenses.

That’s exactly why I love using a dedicated Christmas planner.

🎄 Why Planning Ahead Makes Christmas More Enjoyable

The holidays should be filled with laughter, family traditions, and cozy evenings—not forgotten gifts and last-minute shopping trips.

    A Christmas planner helps you:

    ✅ Stay organized

✅ Keep your budget under control

✅ Remember everyone on your gift list

    ✅ Reduce holiday stress

Instead of juggling sticky notes, phone apps, and random notebooks, everything is organized in one convenient place.

Question for you: What’s the most stressful part of Christmas planning? Shopping? Budgeting? Wrapping gifts? Leave a comment below—I’d love to hear your biggest holiday challenge!

💰 Stay on Budget Without the Holiday Stress

One of the biggest holiday stressors is overspending.

    • Avoid surprise credit card bills in January

A little planning today can help make January feel a lot less stressful.

📅 Keep Every Holiday Event Organized

    Christmas isn’t just about shopping.

    There are also:

    • School concerts
    • Holiday parties
    • Family dinners
    • Cookie baking
    • Decorating
    • Christmas card mailing
    • Travel plans

The included planning calendars help keep everything organized in one place.

    ❤️ Create Lasting Family Traditions

One of my favorite parts of Christmas isn’t the presents—it’s the traditions.

    Watching Christmas movies.

    Baking cookies.

Driving around looking at Christmas lights.
